Let me share with you a story which happened to me recently and really impressed me. Most of the kids here crave for some attention, care and love, so they eargely touch and hug. However my Lesha is different. So many times I tried to hug him or just pet his hair but he always went away. But once after I played "fishing" game with him ( we have a game with fishing pole and fish attracteble by magnets ) he climbed on the window sill and sat there looking on the first snow falling down. Then suddenly he said "I love Lisa". I said" What?" and he repeated himself. It was so unexpected and so touching... Suddenly I realized how much I am needed here.
In my group there is one boy called Vanya Sh. He has a cerebral palsy. For the first time it was very hard to communicate with him because he is very sensitive and can be even aggressive sometimes. For nearly two months I have been trying to make friends with him. I took him from the group to communicate eye to eye, read him books, gave him different toys and cereals for the development of his motor skills but unfortunately he was interested in nothing. I saw that he didn’t like me stroking on his head, talking with him. He was definitely angry at me.
But one day everything had changed. It was after the bath. Vanya was lying on his bed and when I entered the room he smiled at me widely. It was his first and so long-awaited smile! I set down near his bed and understood he finely wanted to talk to me. He listened to me very attentively and repeated the last words of my sentences. I had never heard so many different words from him before! And after several questions about his name he finely answead: “Vanya”. Then he took my hand and put it in his holding for a while. It was unforgettable and I think that it’s a real happiness!...
